2017Two wingmates find the lab. Arvind and Vinay went looking for a thesis lab at IIT Delhi in December and found Pradosh running what they believed was the only lab in the country dedicated purely to deep learning. The work was pre-transformer: generative adversarial networks and variational autoencoders producing 32 by 32 handwritten digits on a 42-node GPU cluster almost no Indian institution had. The instruction was to publish at ICLR, ICML and AAAI or not at all.
Late 2022The ChatGPT moment renames the subject. What they had been doing for academic interest acquired a new name, generative AI, and the small images they had been producing turned out to have applications in the real world.
Mar 2023GPT-4 solves 80 per cent of a live problem. Arvind, then on Meesho's data science team, took a subscription on day one and handed it a problem he was actually working on. It came back with most of the answer.
Early 2024The first enterprise contracts. Agent frameworks and extraction pipelines built for a handful of companies in the UAE and Singapore.
TodayThe pitch narrows to one sub-problem. The company positions itself beneath coding agents rather than against them. Latent graphs mine a ten-million-line code base for its explicit and implicit connections and write documentation on top, so the agent stops spinning up its own database and its own microservices and fits into the ecosystem it found. Claimed a week before a product release: twice the accuracy of any rival context layer once plugged in, and a tenth the cost to create and maintain the graph. Ideaspring is six to eight months in and has not once complained about revenue.
Year end$3 million of run rate. Arvind's number, given on air with the host pointing out that it was now on record.
+2 years$20 to 25 million, and a lab that funds itself. Vinay wants an enterprise-wide context layer inside every software development lifecycle. Arvind sizes the market at five to ten times whatever GitHub does today, because context is harder to store than code. Pradosh wants LatentForce rich enough that he never asks the government to fund his research again.
